About Joyful Torment
Same old story; four artificially intelligent toys break out of a laboratory and take a trip halfway across the world to escape. They find a perfect place to hide, within the home of a surly alcoholic. Once settled, the four prototype 'JoyToys' spend their time learning about human pop- (or poop-) culture while avoiding pop-culture fanatics, their creators, and general nutjobs.
Cotton The optimistic leader of the four, and probably the first plush ambassador in any future human-AI toy relations. Cotton's original purpose was to teach kids how to read, but on the outside the toy rabbit enjoys spending most of his time indulging in videogames, books, movies, and singing (especially anything heavy, like grindcore).

Tika (Princess) Why would anybody create the ultimate doll with a proper British accent that strips off her clothes anytime she hears a certain type of music? That shortcoming aside, Tika acts as the mother-figure towards the other toys, as well as their new 'owner', trying hard to keep them out of trouble... yet not too hard. In her own time, Tika dreams of becoming a real princess.

Christoph Every posse has a tough-guy slash jerk, as every comic has some wise-arse cat, and Christoph the Cat fits these profiles perfectly. While just as curious about pop-culture as the other three 'JoyToys', Christoph would rather pull the ultimate prank on anyone that can stand to be near him. His original purpose, ironically, was to be the perfect artificial pet for anyone living in a small apartment.
|
Pickle The only toy in the group that says very little, giving people the impression that he is a dimwit. On the contrary, Pickle is by far the smartest and most clued-in, knowing more about the 'JoyToys' creators than his friends. Unfortunately he can't say anything more than "Gerr", and cares for nothing more than swimming in the toilet. |
About Psymph
When he isn't working at the local comic shop; reading comics; playing his PS2, Gamecube or GBA;
sitting on the internet and looking up various artists; eating chocolate by the kilo or drinking only the finest
in fairtrade coffee; watching cartoons with his son or watching Heroes with his girlfriend; obsessing over
anything 'Silent Hill'; napping in the daytime; cleaning the dishes; hanging with friends; sitting on the
bus and braintstorming; napping some more; watching more cartoons and reading more comics...
Psymph can be found at his computer, writing and drawing. Sometimes for Joyful Torment. :D
